There was a time when I was in high school that I refused to go to the gym because I did not see the value nor did I think I really needed to. Well I got a rude awakening when I was in College that my Metabolism was not working as good as it was when I was younger.
So I started going to the gym so I would not gain any more weight....and well a year later going to the gym I still had put on 20 lbs after my first year. I would just go to go but still did not see the value or the point so my workouts were not benefiting me at all. And that is where I tried Crossfit for the first time and that changed my perspective on the this whole gym thing.
Crossfit showed me that you can have fun when you exercise and you get to meet cool people to compete against. Going to the gym was no longer about just going cause I didn't want to gain weight but because I actually enjoyed lifting heavy weights and competing against my friends.
Fast forward 6 years later and I no longer do crossfit as much but I do go to the gym 5 days a week, not because I want to lose weight but because it starts my day off on the perfect note. When I do not workout my mind feels cloudy and I am never fully awake but when I do I feel like a completely different person.
If you are not a huge gym person I encourage you to find some type of exercise you enjoy doing everyday because it gives you something that you can accomplish everyday! And I do not know a single person that does not enjoy accomplishing something everyday. Your health and fitness is important and you should take it serious. It can change your outlook and mood everyday. Living proof of going from never touching a weight to that is all I want to do.
